The History of Daddy Warbucks Racing

If only one Ford symbolized the spirit of the 60's Match Race Madness it would be the fabulous Daddy Warbucks Falcon.  It was originally campaigned by Georgian Phil Bonner with Dick Estevez serving as crew chief.  Daddy Warbuck's wheel-standing, crowd-pleasing runs were a fan favorite in the southeast and along the east coast.

Making these runs possible was the responsibility of the teams crew chief, Dick Estevez.  Dick has been involved in drag racing since the late 50's and is unique in that he is as good under the hood as he is behind the wheel.  But one thing that never changed was his brand.  It is, and always has been Ford.

With today's return of the nastalgia cars, Dick's role with the Daddy Warbucks team has evolved.  This time his place at the wheel of the car.  Phil Bonner funded the construction of the car, but his busy schedule proved to be too much.  He sold the car to Dick and as a result, Dick is now the owner and driver of Daddy Warbucks.  After thirty years together, it seems only right.
